  • Americans United for Life outs the World Health Organizationfor ignoring an inconvenient truth: Mothers who choose abortion are not informed of what the future may hold when they are pregnant with their “wanted” children. This is especially the case for women experiencing multiple abortions: Unfortunately, one significant, and modifiable, risk factor for preterm birth was completely ignored by the WHO report: prior termination of pregnancy. There is a large and growing body of scientific data documenting this risk factor for pre-term birth. More than 120 peer-reviewed studies, from more than a dozen countries, have found a statistically significant increased risk of preterm birth or low-birth weight after a termination of pregnancy.
  • Tweets like the one below spotted by the Anti Abortion Gang showcase the need for education that should have been gained in the 9th grade biology book.Birth doesn’t change who or what a baby is.  It’s always been the same developing human being, since the day of his/her conception.

  • Ever wonder why Obama and the abortion industry are more than best friends? Mark Crutcherhas a must read blog showing how  the full implementation of Obamacare will show that the ultimate bailout of the abortion industry is going to be  BIG, which is why he will abandon all before big abortion. He is depending now on the return on his investment with them. The Obamanazis figured out a long time ago that the abortion industry’s only hope for survival is for socialized medicine to convert every $350 patient-paid abortion into a $3000 taxpayer-paid abortion. Equally important is that, since customers will be getting their babies butchered at no charge, the abortion rate is not going to drop. In fact, it’s going to skyrocket.
To put it bluntly, Obamacare is a permanent stimulus package for the abortion industry.

  • Women’s Rights without Frontiers has another story of the family planning “terrorism” in China
The couple’s second daughter fell to her death from a fourth floor window during a quarrel with her boyfriend. Her parents took the boyfriend’s parents to court and won a judgment of 43,000 RMB ($6700), but they were never paid. The victim’s husband petitioned to enforce the judgment.
In retaliation for this petition, that local government forcibly sterilized his wife. The local government told the victim’s husband that if he and his wife kept quiet about the forced sterilization, they would receive compensation. The couple, however, decided to post the incident on the Internet.
  • At Moral OutcrySusan Tyrrell writes about aMinnesota bar that has installed a pregnancy test vending machine in its women’s restroom:
The idea this bar is perpetuating is another sign that society knows that life begins at conception. The vending machines aren’t for women who are 5 or 6 months pregnant, but for those who don’t know yet and want to be sure before they drink. It’s a wonderful idea if people do choose to drink, but the underlying message is better. It says, “if you have another life in you, even if that life is so teeny you didn’t know it was there yet, don’t hurt it.”…
What happens when $3 pregnancy tests come to a bar? Maybe then a woman has time to process without coercion, or reads the information about fetal alcohol syndrome which humanizes the baby she is carrying, even if he or she is three weeks old at that point. Maybe it gives her time to think and consider real options. And certainly the pub’s original goal is valid and viable. A baby may be spared pain and a hard life from suffering from fetal alcohol syndrome because a mom makes a choice to protect her child.

Such a mechanism would obviate physician involvement beyond usual care.” Smith writes:
Do we really think that a government that is constantly looking for ways to contain health care costs will be likely to deny death eligibility? Do we think that government death-control officials will do the right thing — or the cheap thing?
Take this proposal, coupled with government-run health care, and you have “death panels on steroids.”

  • Live Action begins a four-part series chronicling the Medicaid fraud lawsuit brought against Planned Parenthood of the Heartland by former longtime clinic director Sue Thayer. Thayer was let go after voicing reservations about telemed abortions:
Charges filed include forcing patients to receive “C-mail” (birth control by mail at their homes and dormitories), prescribing drugs without physician involvement, failure to provide follow-up exams after a patient had been on birth control for at least a year, and falsifying documents in order to get taxpayer monies through various state and federal agencies.

Totally ignored is the fact that her clinic risks the safety of women by not complying with the law:
The… profile is a classic case of the media’s irresponsible abortion distortion. No other industry, let alone medical office, would be given a free pass to violate a health and safety standard because of “ambience.” There would never be a campaign to defend a dentist failing to comply with a safety regulation because of her top-notch waiting-room reading material.

Local television covered the story, and radio talk show host Scott Stiegler chose to devote two hours to an interview with the pro-life leaders involved as well as listener reaction:
Stiegler’s approach was one of the fairest I have seen by the mainstream news media on an abortion-related subject. • Live Action notes yet another scandal in the abortion industry – this time from the UK’s National Health Service:
Breaking news from England has found… doctors caught forging abortion consent forms – before they ever even saw any patients. When investigators mounted a series of raids on abortion clinics, they found doctors routinely pre-signing consent forms, with nurses filling in the patient information later….
All in all, 14 hospitals have been censured due to these illegal abortions.
What does this tell us about the attitude of the abortion industry? Both in the U.K. and here in the United States, there is an overwhelming prevalence of extreme disregard for the law. The abortion industry will blatantly break the law time and time again in order to profit off their gruesome business.
  • Americans United for Life’s legal team has filed an amicus curiae brief in the Second Circuit case Children First Foundation v. Fiala, arguing that the state of New York discriminated against the pro-life viewpoint by refusing to issue a Choose Life license plate supporting the work of pregnancy care centers, despite the fact that the foundation “met all necessary guidelines for the plate.”
  • Down on the Pharmnotices the Obamacampaign may have waded into trashy waters with its attacks on Mitt Romney(pictured left) and Bain Capital’s post-Romney association with Planned Parenthood’s human waste disposal company,Stericycle:
Obama’s expose of Stericycle’s abortion association is likely to hurt that company far more than it hurts Romney. Who will take out Planned Parenthood’s “trash” now? Perhaps the Obama campaign should have thought of Planned Parenthood’s medical waste compliance issues before it decided to bust Stericycle by driving off the legitimate portions of its business.
  • The Anti-Abortion Gang spots an interesting article in Slate which seems to find not-so-pro-choice terms like “baby-in-progress” acceptable when it comes to determining paternity and paternal responsibility during pregnancy.

  • Culture Campaign follows the possible precedent-setting case of aVirginia waitress who alleges she was fired because she refused her employer’s requests to have an abortion.
  • Judie Brown points out how Planned Parenthood has successfully gained a societal advantage by using “reproductive wordplay”:
After years of working at forming public opinion through early and frequent brainwashing in the classrooms of America, Planned Parenthood has succeeded in influencing public policies that confirm its belief that anything having to do with conceiving a child is a mechanical function of the body and nothing more.
It is very clear that “reproductive choice” is the national raison d’être for deadly practices that treat men and women more like machines than the people God created them to be. If we are to stop Planned Parenthood, we must stop its influence—and we can only do that by changing the way people think about their bodies, sexuality, and reproduction.

  • Stand True reports the Melinda Gates Family Planning Summit tried to eject Wendy Wright, who was there representing C-FAM, when she was recognized by abortion proponents:
Attendance at the conference has been tightly controlled. Only supporting governments and organizations have been allowed into the event. All non-governmental attendees had to be approved by the International Planned Parenthood Federation, which has been organizing “civil society” participation. IPPF has refused admittance to any group that is critical of the Gates family planning initiative which intends to raise $6 billion to target poor women for population control programs.
John Smeaton believes that though Gates (pictured left, withMicrosoft-founder husband Bill) has publicly stated she does not want her $4B donated toward family planning in third-world countries to go toward abortion, it likely will anyway:
When “contraceptive failure” occurs, and a baby is conceived, family planning NGOs will promote chemical or surgical abortion as a back-up. Far from avoiding abortions, the Gates family planning summit may increase the number. Increasing contraceptive prevalence may often increase abortion rates, contrary to expectations.

Having a child may well be something a woman decides not to do, but it’s not an item you can expect to juggle like a new job, mortgage or car, a function of timing, dollars and favorable government programs. • Big Blue Wave shines a light on the “French partial birth abortion” method, found in a document released by the French College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists:

Maafa 21 distributed at AME convention featuring Michelle Obama.....

Cross Posted from Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 7/8/2012 3:35:00 AM

A pastor in the African-Methodist-Episcopal Church is expressing some disappointment following his denomination's recent national convention.

Joseph Parker, pastor of Trinity AME Church near West Point, Mississippi, attended the convention in Nashville, where First Lady Michelle Obama was the keynote speaker. He shares that the convention dealt with various issues, some that would be considered political in nature.

"Personally I'm disappointed at the fact that the life issue really, to my knowledge, was addressed little if at all in the general conference," Parker tells OneNewsNow. "This issue is a huge issue as it relates to our culture as a whole and the black community in particular, but I find that it wasn't addressed much."

Parker was part of a small group that distributed about 1,600 copies of Maafa 21: Black Genocide in 21st Century America, a DVD that carefully documents how Planned Parenthood and other abortion-dominated organizations target minorities -- and specifically, African-Americans -- for abortion services.

Joseph Parker"We think of the fact that lots in the African-American community wouldn't think highly of an organization like the KKK, but the reality is Planned Parenthood kills more African-Americans in two weeks than the Klan has killed in its whole 150 history," notes Parker. "And so it's important that people in the African-American community become aware of how dangerous the organization of Planned Parenthood is."

The AME pastor points out that the Obama administration gives more than a million dollars a day to Planned Parenthood.

The issue of same-sex "marriage" came up, according to Parker, and one delegate took exception on the floor to the position President Barack Obama has taken in favor of same-gender marriage -- and made a motion in favor of reaffirming the denomination's clear, biblically based position on the subject and that denomination officials quietly share that statement with the president.

While that motion failed, Parker says at least the AME churches stance on traditional, biblical marriage will remain the same.

The controversial notion would allow career women peace of mind with a fertility insurance policy so they can find a partner, settle down and become financially secure before starting a family. The basis of the complaint is that the screening programme targets unborn children with Down syndrome and other rare conditions such as Spina Bifida for birth prevention. New Zealand is signatory to the Rome Statute, under which the ICC operates. The persecution of an identifiable group of the civilian population through birth prevention is prohibited under the Statute.

Obama Admin Sends $395K to Tennessee Planned Parenthood

by Steven Ertelt | Memphis, TN | LifeNews.com | 7/5/12 1:41 PM

The Obama administration has sent a family planning grant of $395,000 to a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Memphis, Tennessee. The move is drawing strong condemnation from pro-life advocates in the Volunteer State who are unhappy taxpayer funds are going to the nation’s biggest abortion business.
Congressman Steve Cohen today announced that Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region (PPGMR) has received $395,000 for the Title X Family Planning Services Program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Grants Management.
“Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region has been helping Memphis and Shelby County residents get the health care they need to lead happier, healthier lives for years,” said Congressman Cohen.  “These new federal funds will help ensure the Title X Family Planning Program reaches those who need help the most in underserved communities.”
But Tennessee Right to Life officials tell LifeNews the funding comes in opposition to the majority of Tennesseans, who oppose public funding for Planned Parenthood.
“While we are disappointed that any tax funding would be directed to private organizations promoting and profiting from the killing of unborn children, this end run around the people of Tennessee will serve to underscore the urgent need to elect a pro-life president, Senate and Congress in November,” said Brian Harris, president of Tennessee Right to Life.
Although Harris is disappointed about the funding, the TRTL president said the federal grant represents a significant decrease in tax-funding the abortion giant previously received, which once amounted to more than $727,000 annually.
Harris said the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood follows successful efforts by pro-life Governor Bill Haslam and the Tennessee Legislature to redirect public health funds in Tennessee to ethical providers in Memphis and Nashville which do not promote, perform or profit from the killing of unborn children.
In 2011, state legislators passed a budget which was believed to have effectively defunded Planned Parenthood.  Following the Legislature’s adjournment, lawmakers realized that pro-abortion language had also been included which nullified the effort to remove funding.  In response, the Haslam Administration took action to direct available Title X funds to public health departments in both Davidson and Shelby counties where required family planning services were already being provided.  Neither Davidson nor Shelby county health departments perform abortion.

“The stakes for pro-life Tennesseans in the upcoming elections have just been heightened,” said Harris.  “We’ve done good work here in Tennessee electing pro-life majorities to the Legislature and Congress. But all of that can apparently be undone unless we have a pro-life president and a pro-life senate solidly committed to defending the weakest and most vulnerable of all.”

Chinese demographics suffer under one child policy....

I heard this on NPR...Chinese officials are getting some public criticism of their forced abortion and one child policy that targets females from inside their own country.

Although there were some mild complaints about human rights issue most of the concerns centered around the demographics and what this means economically not to mention the absence of girls as prospective brides and mothers to future generations. Why don't we get it....as an ad used to say...don't mess with Mother Nature!
"But Wang says the problem now isn't that Chinese couples are having too many kids, it's that they're having too few. Last year, census results showed what demographers had long suspected: the fertility rate is very low.

As the population ages, health care costs are expected to soar. With couples having fewer kids, there will be far fewer workers to pay for that health care.
"I think the harm has already been done," says Wang. "So even if China stopped the one-child policy tomorrow, this new birth would not become adult labor until 20 years from now."
However some conscience pricking is going on especially after the alternative media exposed the forced late term abortion of the daughter of Deng Jiyuan and Feng Jianmei when they failed to cough up $6,000 fine for having a second child.

"Family planning workers are aware of the research, but must enforce the rules. Some are riddled with guilt. Zhang Erli used to work as a high-ranking official with China's National Population and Family Planning Commission.
Last month, he made an extraordinary, tearful apology on TV to the millions of women who have had to end their pregnancies because of the policy."

Knoxville may become abortion free with new state law

Knoxville Metro Pulse article discusses  the shortage of abortionists  in Knoxville. They lament that the two abortions facilities may have to close due to a new law taking effect July 1. The article stresses that one third of their clients are women who come from other states.

"In April, the Tennessee Legislature passed the Life Defense Act, requiring doctors who perform abortions to have hospital admitting privileges."

"At VWMC, Dr. Richard Manning is the primary physicain and he has opted not to restore his admitting privleges, which he relinquished years ago when he transitioned from full time OB/GYN practice to the ambulatory surgery clinic. Dr. Manning is 69. As of Sunday, July 1 he can no longer perform abortions in Tennessee. "
The article  further states that a colleague of Dr. Manning applied for admitting privileges to take over for Dr. Manning but died two weeks later. According to the reporter his name is being withheld since some members of his mourning family were unaware of his abortion practice.  Another doctor is willing to fill in temporarily  but unwilling per the article to do this on a full time basis. The article will not identify the female physician out of concern by "domestic terrorists in the anti abortion moment" and the woman also fears the backlash from the professional community.

The article is written very sympathetically to the abortion advocates and completely ignores the need to protect the women who are undergoing surgery  by doctors who fail to obtain admitting privileges at hospitals.

The law was passed in April and the article states that admitting privileges  take 30-60 days and a fee of $100.  The abortion mills price their  abortions from $490 -$950. One facility will acknowledge aborting  1600 babies per year. Wow, you think they can afford the $100 fee and they knew in April this was coming. Could it be that the doctors who do abortions do not have the credentials necessary to have admitting privileges?

So would we feel bad for TN not to be the abortion mecca of the south? Is this the reputation we want? Do we care so little about the safety of women and are so eager to abort babies that we oppose laws like this?

Another source of deriving embryonic stem cells without killing the baby. I heard Dr. Ming Wang speak of this at a meeting on using this source to cure blindness. As he said...God's way is always best.
British researchers said they had succeeded in reprogramming amniotic fluid cells without having to introduce extra genes.

This suggests the possibility that stem cells derived from donated amniotic fluid could be stored in banks and used for medical therapies and in research, they said, offering a less problematic alternative to embryonic stem cells.

  • Down on the Pharm reports on the vandalism and physical assault suffered by leaders in the Personhood movement since receiving coverage in Newsweek and The Daily Beast. A commenter reportedly posted some of the victims’ home addresses and the attacks followed shortly thereafter:
Pro-lifers assume considerable risk, due to the violent propensities of abortion supporters. However these kinds of attacks are not considered newsworthy to the mainstream media, and therefore must be passed along in the new media.
  • Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life has the latest on abortion statistics in the state. The good news: abortion numbers are down 21%. The bad news:
Tax-funded abortions increased to 34.2 percent of all abortions. This is the highest percentage since the 1995 Doe v. Gomez decision by the Minnesota Supreme Court required taxpayers to pay for abortions performed on low-income women. This percentage has increased nearly every year since the court ruling.

  • My Drop in the Ocean links to a Washington Post article and photos (see left) of the Catholic Church’s pro-religious liberty Fortnight for Freedom campaign from various locations in the US.
  • The Life Training Institute blog discusses Idaho’s fetal pain law and points out that arguments for and against the law “miss the crux of the issue — the humanity and value of the 20-week old fetus, the life of whom was taken because its mother couldn’t afford another child.”
  • Secular Pro-Life notes that the merger of secular and Catholic hospitals often results in the cessation of abortions at those hospitals, causing SPL to ask, “What is the difference, if any, between getting social/legal exemptions because of your religious beliefs and getting exemptions because of your personal (but secular) beliefs?”
  • Live Action reports on the temporary injunction that has been issued, keeping Mississippi’s last remaining abortion mill open:
The law requires that abortion doctors be licensed OB/GYN’s with admitting privileges to local hospitals. In Mississippi there is only one abortion clinic, and it did not conform to the law at the time it was passed. But three months after the legislation was passed, the clinic still does not comply with the new requirements.
The judge granted the injunction to continue abortions without complying with the law while the constitutionality of the law is adjudicated.
