Daily Beacon calls GAP project ineffective in Knoxville....tell that to the lives saved as a result of this education

This critical opinion piece from the Daily Beacon in Knoxville. I used to be critical of this approach myself but have softened my opinion. Is the truth in poor taste? Sometimes the truth is offensive but sometimes we need to be offended. I know of lives that were saved because of this in your face education. Women who saw the photos and recognized the humanity of the pre born. One photo they show is of a baby that was saved from abortion because of this display and made an adoption plan. Is it worth it to save just one life. How valuable is life anyway? If it offends many but saves one life? What do you think?

The GAP Project (the Genocide Awareness Project) recently posted enormous pictures of dead fetuses, Holocaust victims and breasts undergoing brutal augmentation, among other graphic pictorials, in an effort to raise awareness on the perceived severity of abortion in the United States.
Whether or not you agree with the political stance of the GAP Project, everyone can certainly agree on one central aspect of this matter: The pictures are largely ineffective when placed in the context of goals to be achieved.

Trust Women:documentary to attract new docs to late term abortions

Catherine Epstein writes a blog  lauding two women financing and making a documentary making heroes out of late term abortionists in the hopes of motivating other doctors to devote their practices to late term abortions. They point out that the two late term abortionists, Carhart and Hern are 68 and 72 respectively and although there are other doctors who are not so public performing late term abortion that in their mind, they need more docs to enter this profession.

"...creating dozens of homemade buttons that read "Trust Women," the working title of their documentary. The film tells the story of two doctors who perform late-term abortions, and the buttons are gifts for contributors. Only a third of the way through shooting, Shane and Wilson say they need all the financial help they can get. "We're also sending condom bouquets," Shane explained, pointing to an arrangement in a vase across the table--several condoms wrapped together with pipe cleaner stems. Wilson nodded. "Maybe we can sell them as limited edition artworks."

Some of the reasons they state to justify late term abortion is that the baby will not live long after birth...wow.....so why not kill the baby now and save you the heartache of growing more attached to the baby and then having the baby die. That one  really gets me. No one wants the pain of losing a child so kill it early rather than put money into a dying child. This shows how selfish we are. A friend from church had such a pregnancy and they recommended abortion but she refused. Yes, her baby lived just three mos. but every day was a treasure and a blessing. Note they stress the pain part as justification, forgetting conveniently that we can deal with pain without killing the patient.
Fetuses are sometimes given devastating diagnoses, such as a one-year life expectancy in excruciating pain, creating an emotional and financial strain on the parents and other children in the family.

TN Pro Life Democrat website built in 2008 still under construction in 2010.

This website popped up in my in-box Google search so of course I wanted to see what they had  to offer. As a pro lifer, I am non partisan but I found it interesting that this site was established in 2008 and at the end of 2010 it was still under construction. Each box remained empty..... what does this mean? I guess the recent election results would say that even the Dems who professed the pro life stance never got it off the ground or no one believed them.

Pro life updates:November 27, 2010

Wesley J. Smith   writes about The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg hearing the case of a man who is suing over the country's " refusal to grant his late wife authorization to acquire a lethal dose of medication enabling her to commit voluntary, assisted suicide." She was paralyzed after a fall and wanted to die. When they refused she did commit suicide in Swiss suicide clinic. This ruling is key ...
"Because if suicide is a fundamental human right, how can it be limited to the dying, the sick, or people with disabilities?  Indeed, if we have a “right to die,” who is to gainsay why we decide to exercise that right?"

Suzy B  laments "that a tragedy in Thailand after the remains of 2,000 unborn children found in  a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand,  now has caused the "Thai lawmakers think they've come up with a solution: more lenient abortion laws. Because the answer to death and destruction is more death and destruction?"

Andy Moore of Star Studded Super Step grieved with the rest of New Zealand when 29 miners were lost in a mine disaster, however, while he grieved another ongoing tragedy touched his heart and he posted on his facebook page the following post touching on another loss that is ongoing that also grieves his heart. Many attacked him for comparing the two. They accused him of being heartless.

Real Choice continues to chronicle abortions deaths that occurred on that date and she includes the graph showing that prior to legalization of abortion, contrary to the propaganda,  that is out there, 90% of the abortions prior to legalization was performed by doctors.

"On November 26, 1923, 23-year-old Alice S. Johnson died at Chicago's West End Hospital from a criminal abortion performed there that day. Alice's abortion was typical of criminal abortions in that it was performed by a physician."

Pro Life Blogs  highlights another welcome announcement out of NJ "The New Jersey Planned Parenthood has closed another center thanks to pro-life Gov. Chris Christie cutting off the taxpayer funding the abortion business receives through the state’s family planning program... Planned Parenthood of Greater Northern New Jersey announced that it would be closing its Dover, New Jersey center. Although the facility did not do abortions it makes abortion referrals like all Planned Parenthood centers do to its abortion clinics." Now that is cost cutting that saves lives.
